Press ReleasesPress releases can save you money while marketing your business effectively. They're published for free. Readers perceive them as more trustworthy than ads, as they run as articles, radio spots, and television news items, and promote you through facts, not hard sell messages. No business should ignore such a useful publicity tool. When should you submit a press release? Whenever your company has accomplished something newsworthy or when your company is hosting or sponsoring an event. If you don't have a reason to submit a release, you can create one. Host an event. Even better, find a local cause you feel strongly about and offer to sponsor and help plan a fundraising event. You'll get publicity while helping a cause you care about. You can find more ideas about how to generate free publicity from the widely available book 6 Steps to Free Publicity by marketing expert Marcia Yudkin. You can write press releases yourself, but an experienced writer can make them stand out. I have written over 100 press releases, both as a freelancer, and as the staff publicist for the Arts Alliance, a non-profit arts agency in Hudson, Massachusetts. I can write press releases for anyone, anywhere. But if you market specifically to the Metrowest Massachusetts area, I can distribute your press release to an extensive media list for a nominal extra charge. If you're interested in this service, please take a look at my portfolio. Feel free to contact me, at no obligation, at 978-897-5444, or at janet@scribeforhire.net, to discuss your writing needs. |
